A perfect chilled getaway homestay with a loved and take care off feel šŸ˜Š Scored 10 10 The room was big, clean and the bed was comfy and also very big. We had a little seating area outside our room which was nice. The roof top communal area is fabulous, comfy, full of colour and a Yoga area. Thereā€™s a hammock, a chaise lounge and a low level chill seating. The view of the area is great. We loved the roof top šŸ˜Š The position is perfect for town, access to the reserve and just has a relaxed atmosphere. Afsal, pardillo and Sophie make the whole place feel loved and looked after.

A relaxed and delightful place to stay run by the wonderful, Afsal. Afsal and Pradul are charming and attentive hosts - they really looked after us and made our stay so happy. The coffee and breakfast options are delicious and made to order with love. The room is spacious and clean and the roof terrace is a beautiful space to hang out or do yoga with Sophie. I canā€™t recommend it more highly. We booked for 3 nights and stayed for 6!

We highly recommend staying at Mountain View Homestay. The homestay itself is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated with mandala paintings, tapestries, and charming little ornaments. The rooms are nice and spacious, and the rooftop is a peaceful spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy the food and drinks offered at the homestay. Afsal and Sophie are incredibly hospitable hosts who made us feel right at home. Sophie took the time to sit with us, go over a map of the area, and recommend local restaurants, attractions, and activities. She even kindly lent me a pair of trousers and shoes for our visit to Periyar the following day. The homestay is ideally located, just a 15-minute walk from the entrance to the national park, making it the perfect base if you're planning to visit the park early in the morning.

Youā€™ll never want to leaveā¤ļø Mountain View homestay felt like a little safe sanctuary - a calm space to base yourself while exploring and enjoying all the wonderful things in Kumily or equally to just relax and recuperate after months of travel. We felt so welcomed and at home we didnā€™t want to leave. The wonderful hosts will help organise various activities or answer any questions. We did yoga on the rooftop with Sophie which was lovely. Itā€™s really a special place to visit

Exceptional. The location is fantastic - a couple of mins from the bus station and a short walk to shops, restaurants, and attractions. The room itself was very basic (bed, table, bathroom), but it was enough for me, and I didn't need any more. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Whilst I didn't take them up on it, the hosts were kind enough to offer some guided trips in the evening and yoga classes in the morning. If I stayed for more than 2 nights, I would most certainly have done so. There is a wonderful rooftop that serves food and drinks and is just a nice and chilled space to hang out with a book.

Great place to decompressā€¦ Sophie, Afsal and Brad were gracious, considerate and kind hosts. The home stay is filled with gentle creative flair, with an encouraging airy ā€œrooftopā€ communal living space to have friendly evening conversations and delicious breakfasts. Our room had all comforts required with added care and attention to the mood and aesthetic. Kumily is a place that grows on you if you stay longer to settle into the local rhythm and make the most of the mountain air and local nature walks. The hosts can support trips and book whatever is needed. We enjoyed the surprise visit from the neighbourhood monkeys!

A real hostel where to meet incredible people! Moutain View was an "hostel" eaxctly as we would have in Europe (youth hostel, auberge de jeunesse), with a really nice and huge terrace in which all the guests can chill, talk, play... Any age, any country, everybody would come and enjoy being together. I could do a bit of yoga every morning, facing the rising sun. I chose the "tent" option, which was far more comfortable than I expected (big mattress) and quiet. The facilities are very clean, the staff is friendly, funny and can give a lot of advise on what to do. Even if the owner was not on site during my stay, he would reply to any of my requests by whatsapp very quickly. Finally, the location is perfect, walking distance from the center, from the natural park entrance and from the bus stand, but in a quiet street!

Wonderful. The common use rooftop. Met lots of interesting people. Of all ages. Good for exchange of information and just for playing games and conversations. Had a nice one-on-one Hatha yoga with Sofi who works there. Also on the rooftop at the open space by the tents on the roof (which some guests sometimes stay in for half the price. They said it was lovely too.

Afsal and Sophie where the best hosts anyone could ever wish for, nothing was to much trouble. They have created an oasis of calm and peace. Afsal went out of his way to make my forward journey more comfortable giving great suggestions for route options and booking tickets. I stayed one extra night and was very sad to leave. Mountain View Homestay is the place for you if you are looking for great company relaxed surroundings and the nicest hosts i've had in India. Arrive a guest leave a friend.

I loved it so much I extended my stay! Beautiful space with charming decoration and a great panoramic view of the small town rooftops and palm trees. Comfortable and homely, very friendly and hospitable staff. I stayed in the tent and it was more than suitable!.
